What type of plug is this 5 pin 13mm wide
Its for a aircon controller i have a loose connection
Hey @Daniel287919, welcome to the forums!
If you haven’t found it already, we have a great guide on identifying electrical connectors.
It looks like a JST connect or some type to me, potentially a JST XH?
The best way to be sure is to measure the pin to pin pitch (the distance between any two closest pins on the board). If you can check this for us we can give you a better guess!
Hope this helps!
Hi Daniel
Can you post a pic showing the “keying” used. That is the method whereby the connector cannot be inserted the wrong way around.
The bottom pic shows a ridge of some kind between pins 1 & 2 (or 4 & 5). That can’t be it as the top pic shows the connectors mated and this “ridge” is still visible. If it were a “key” it would be on the other side…
The pin pitch will probably be 2.5mm or 2.54mm. almost impossible to tell apart by measuring between pins. Measure across the whole connector. between the left hand edge of the first hole to the left hand edge of the last hole then divide by 4. That will get you closer. If you try estimating the centre of the pins you could get anything. The difference between 2.5mm and 2.54mm is not much but is enough. You probably need vernier callipers anyway. I don’t think 5 pins is enough for a ruler to be accurate enough.
