I am interested in tracking egg production of chickens - a tag on the chicken’s leg which is recorded every time she enters the nesting box to lay an egg. Any suggestions?
Hi Phil,
The first thing that comes to mind would be some kind of RFID tag with a reader with a fairly large range (the Adafruit PN532 has a range of 10cm)
Would these work with the reader you suggested? -https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-Electronic-RFID-Pigeon-Bird-Ring-Tag-For-Tracking-With-125KHz-ID-4100-AF/173582323821?epid=25007336095&hash=item286a50106d%3Ag%3Aof4AAOSwGn5ZsR3Q%3Ark%3A8%3Apf%3A0&fbclid=IwAR3lIcWzfSW_nIj4hPAei5Ks3CCorxxun5n0fDDlzdkwUkTUHYxGNUpmhOc
I think I linked the wrong RFID reader sorry, you would need a reader that is compatible with 4100 (125Khz).
