Pi5b 8gb in a Sunfounder Pironman5 case, 500gb nvme ssd, 10" Wimaxit screen. I need to take this in the field and was wondering if anyone has an idea what kind of powerpack would work, at least for a couple of hours.
Hi @Trevor254738 - perhaps this power bank will do the trick.
You might also like to look at others if you decide you don’t need 20Ah. The Pi5 will want a USB-PD capable supply, since it needs to negotiate a high current. Using a supply that is not USB-PD will restrict the current available to the Pi5 and connected peripherals.
You can take a look at Raspberry pi battery UPS hat.
Hi @Trevor254738,
Just wanted to clarify something from Michael’s reply.
The Pi 5 requires a 5V 5A supply and the one linked below can only supply 5V 4.5A max.
This means the Pi may boot but it will be running in low power mode. This also means that there may not be enough power for peripherals as well.
We currently don’t have a USB Power Bank that can supply the 5V 5A needed for the Pi 5.
The closest we have to a battery system that can power the Pi 5 is the UPS HAT that @lia262073 suggested.
