RFID Tag Reader for auditing security fobs

Hi, I’ve been looking at your USB RFID reader https://core-electronics.com.au/rfid-usb-reader.html and I’m wondering if, once connected to a USB, it’ll output the tag number of any tag it reads? Is it a keyboard style interface? I.e - tap the fob, it scans it and if you’ve got a text input box or a text file open, it prints the tag number?

Hi Chris,

Yes you can read the numbers from compatible RFID chips. This USB reader does not include the RFID reader itself, it is only a USB adapter for a reader. Compatible readers are linked to from the product description.

This is not a keyboard interface, and you will need to connect to the COM port it is connected to with a serial monitor like Putty to read the numbers it outputs.
