Ribbon cable is really helpful in situations where you need to make a lot of connections without a big mess of wires. Nothing makes a project look more finished than a nice clean wiring harness.

What are the colors and their order in your 6 wire ribbon cable

Hi Richard.
If you look closely it seems to follow rhe resistor colour code.
Brown
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue.
One to six in that order.

And if you like to keep going
7 = Violet
8 = Grey (used to be called Slate)
9 = White
0 - Black

There are lots of different colour schemes, One in common use is the “Belden” colour code. “Belden” being a cable manufacturer but several other companies use it also so it has almost become another “standard”. Telephone cable uses a different one again.
