Compared to fixed (rigid) solar panels, semi-flexible panels usually offer a few key advantages:
- Lightweight and thin, making it ideal for portable or weight-sensitive applications.
- Can curve slightly, which is useful for mounting on uneven or curved surfaces (like a backpack, vehicle, or tent).
- Less fragile, due to the flexible backing makes it more resistant to cracking compared to glass-covered panels.
That said, rigid panels can be more durable long-term and better suited for permanent installations.
