Hi, I’m wondering what kind of power input is required for this. Is it just the one 4.5-14V DC power jack? Will I need that specific size jack to drive this? What size would that be?

Would this drive any reasonable amount of sound out of a pair of 6 Ohm 15-150W speakers?

How would you recommend getting a 14V or 15V supply for this audio amplifier?

Hi Andrew,

This would take a 2.1mm plug for the power input, and any source from 4.5-15V will work fine. I would use a 12V supply since they are widely available:

This should work nicely:

The full instructions for setup and assembly of this part can be found here:

Im wondering if this product, the MAX9744 Adafruit Amplifier board, will come back in stock? It seems as if many stores are out of stock for this product and im thinking of purchasing this soon. Does anyone know if they will be restocked or if they are being discontinued?

Hey @Sam223016 , welcome to the forums!

It looks like our supplier of this audio amplifier is currently out of stock of this one and has been for about 3 months now. It doesn’t look like it has been discontinued, but it could be some time before this is back in stock.

If you haven’t already, try the ‘Sign up to get notified’ link on the product page. That way, we can let you know as soon as this is made available to order again.

We also have a fair few other audio amplifiers that may do the trick for your project. You can see them on this category page for audio modules.

Hope this helps!
