Good catch, I will add a note to the product page to hopefully reduce the chances of such a disastrous mistake from happening.
It looks like the orientation of the input and output connectors are mirrored, which should help prevent a clumsy misplacement of a plug, but it’s still worth a warning on the page.

Being mirrored would not help wth flexible cable.
“Back in the day” it was common practise to use a 3 pin connector with the + pin on centre and the - on the 2 outside pins. Then it matters not witch way around the connector is mated. or key it in some way. A simple solution is to block an unused hole in the female connector and cur off or remove the corresponding pin in the male.
No accidents that way (unless the user goes to a lot of trouble)

Another logical easy thing to do would be change these output connectors to female, which is what they should be anyway. Convention used to be Power source-female, Audio source-male. Maybe there is no “convention” these days.
