[URGENT HELP] Need Advice on Parts and Quotation for Arduino-Based Spraying System Project

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a personal project for my university, and I urgently need your help. I have only 2 weeks left to submit a draft of my project results, and I need to finalize the list of components and get a quotation to request budget approval from my academic advisor.

Project Description:

The goal is to build an automated spraying system using Arduino. Here’s how the system should work:

  1. A sensor detects an object passing by (e.g., a fruit or plant).

  2. Once detected, the Arduino:

    • First activates a Directional Control Valve (DCV).

    • Then turns on a mini pump to draw water from a tank.

    • Water is then sprayed out through a nozzle.

  3. When the object is no longer detected, the DCV must immediately shut off.

Parts I need (but I’m not sure which specific models to choose):

  • 1x Arduino board (Uno or compatible)

  • 1x Object detection sensor (e.g., IR sensor, ultrasonic sensor)

  • 1x DCV (Directional Control Valve) – either 12V or 24V, must be Arduino-compatible

  • 1x Mini water pump

  • 1x Water nozzle

  • Relay module, power supply, wires, or other necessary accessories

My Questions: Can anyone recommend specific models or brands for each of these components that would work reliably together?

I’m under a time crunch, so any quick advice, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Thank you in advance!

Hey @Dieu300571,

Welcome to the forum!

Great project, sounds like a solid automation setup. Here’s a list of Arduino-compatible components available from Core Electronics (AU stock, fast delivery) to help you finalise your parts list quickly:

Recommended Components

Arduino Board

Object Detection Sensor

Directional Control Valve (DCV)

Mini Water Pump (choose based on your power setup)

Relay Module

Power Supply

Water Nozzle
Core doesn’t currently stock spray nozzles, but any 1/4" misting nozzle or spray tip from an irrigation or hydroponics supplier should work. Just make sure it matches your tubing diameter.

Jumper Wires

Good luck with your submission!

Thank you so much, Ryan!
I got general perspective about all products you show me.
I appreciate you.
