Read moreI have one of these. I connect it to my phone and display the data thru an app I built. Any serial terminal app on the phone will show the sentences immediately (no programming needed).
If you do want to use it on your phone you will need an OTG cable which Core has in their shop.

Welcome to the forum!
iPadOS does not take location from generic USB/serial (CDC‑ACM/NMEA) GPS receivers into the system’s Location Services. That means most apps (Apple Maps, Gaia, ForeFlight, etc.) won’t see it unless the app explicitly supports that exact USB GPS. So this is not likely compatible.
