USB to TTL Serial Cable - Doesn't Work Windows 11

I purchased one of these USB to TTL serial cables (USB to TTL Serial Cable - Debug / Console Cable for Raspberry Pi | Adafruit ADA954 | Core Electronics Australia) a few years back which has been reliable for me, but recently I upgraded to windows 11, and get a message in the drivers (device manager) under the COM & LPT tab

PL2303TA DOES NOT SUPPORT WINDOWS 11 OR LATER, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER

Is this it for this cable? I tried installing the latest drivers to no avail. Some people mention older drivers but I haven’t been able to find them, and these might be for different chips internal to the cable.

Any advice?

Hi Tristan,

Welcome to the forum

We don’t have a Windows 11 machine here in the warehouse to check those drivers with, but since it was working with your computer pre-update it’s definitely just a compatibility issue with the current driver version. The only driver links we have for the PL2303TA are linked here but if they aren’t working then searching around for an older driver is likely your best bet short of logging the issue with Microsoft and waiting for them to release a patch.

Hi Trent,

That’s a shame, I really liked the cable. Guess I’m holding into a bricked device until I fold or something is patched :(. Thanks anyhow.
