I want to power my astronomy gear which takes 12v 5A barrel plug, however this cable talks about supplying 9v only. A 100W PD USB-C can supply plenty of juice, but is this cable suitable for 12V?

The indication is that it can do 9V only. If your equipment requires 12V then a better choice would be the 12V version.

Hi @Andy73930

As Jeff mentioned, if you need 12V power you would need the 12V specific cable. You would need for the PD USB-C supply that you use to be capable of 12V and also of the current required (it should mention it on the power supply itself, similar to the photo below)

Thanks - didn’t realise there was also a 12v version of this cable.

P.S. Pity the USB-C PD standard doesn’t support 12v/5A which would be good for my astronomy power needs, and which this cable would support (5A). Seems 12v/3A is as high as the PD standard goes, not 5A - ironic since at higher voltages e.g. 20v 5A is indeed supported by the PD standard.
