Will Mini Cellular GSM Breakout work when 2G network closes?

Hello,

I’m looking at using the Adafruit FONA - Mini Cellular GSM Breakout - SMA Version - v1. (Part number SKU: ADA1963) in remote control applications.

Can you please confirm if it will still work when Telstra closes it’s 2g network in December ?

Welcome to Core Electronics! With GSM being disconnected in December in Australia, it will leave many products such as this behind. With that said, newer devices will fill those gaps between now and then!
