Adafruit PT100 RTD Temperature Sensor Amplifier - MAX31865 (ADA3328)

This is a placeholder topic for “Adafruit PT100 RTD Temperature Sensor Amplifier - MAX31865” comments.

For precision temperature sensing, nothing beats a Platinum RTD. Resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) are temperature sensors that contain a resistor that changes…

I have a MAX6675 module, however it tops out at 1023.8 deg c (k-type thermocouple)
Is there a different module that will get to 1300 degree C ?
Thanks

If you regularly need >1300°C, consider Type R, S, or B thermocouples, and use MAX31856, which supports them.

Hey @James298530,

Welcome to the forum!

@ahsrab292840 is correct that this amplifier is designed for PT1000 RTD sensors, which are typically used for temperatures up to around 600°C.

For your temperature range up to 1300°C, you’ll want to use a thermocouple designed for high temperatures, such as Type R, S, or B. These thermocouples can measure temperatures up to about 1800°C, depending on the type. For that, check out this amplifier, which supports those thermocouples:
