Alternative to Lilypad equipment

Hi there. I’m interested in creating a wearable tech project from the book http://sewelectric.org/diy-projects/

  • The monster project where you can touch his hand and the eye will blink (or something like that). Anyway I’ve been told that some of the Lilypad parts are very hard to get at the moment (like the SimpleSnap protoboard) and was wondering it there are any alternatives I can use to achieve the same result. I need there to be no soldering in this project. Sewing will be OK but soldering will lose the audience.
