Just want to know what Battery Monitor should I use on my RPi Pico on your PiicoDev LiPo Expansion Board with a LiPO 603450 1100mAh battery,
Adafruit MAX17048
or
Adafruit LC709203F
I also would like to have an on/off switch would the "Soft Power Switch be ok to use in conjunction with the other parts?
Is there also any way of mentoring the “2-Way 18650 Battery Holder” as well.
Having a look at the datasheets for the MAX17048 and the LC709203F It looks like the the main difference is the LC709203F has thermal compensation to allow for more accurate readings in various environments.
The thermal pad is exposed but I’m unsure if it’s enabled on Adafruits board from what I can see.
May also want to look into if there would be conflicting I2C addresses when used in conjunction with PiicoDev devices.
The Soft Power Switch should also work but if you don’t need the whole soft shutdown part then you could always wire a switch to a board like this one
The holder is designed to be self contained and does have LED’s on the backside to see its status when charging and in use. Otherwise the only other option would be to add probes and measure the voltage of the individual cells.
