Hi guys,
As I cannot find a direct replacement for my display
I am trying to install a BigTreeTech Mini 12864 without success.
Can you offer any assistance please
Regards Rudi
Hi Rudi,
I busted my screen on one of printers and replaced it with an Octoprint instance on Pi 3A+ and it works really well. Would a setup like this work?
I recently had a similar project and encountered some difficulties. Some of my friends suggested that I change a monitor. Maybe you can also try TFT LCD. I’ve used it before. It’s really an excellent monitor

Hi Rudi,
Are there any signs of life from the display?
It looks like this topic covers the pinout, I’d check that your wiring makes sense on paper.
Could you please also attach some photos of how you have that one connected? We might be able to help out from there!
Another option to try and get your screen working would be to send through an email to BigTreeTech.

Thanks Liam,
I did work out that the connector on the display were flipped so I rotated the plastic cases and confirmed the same pins on both ends were connected to M.
The display shows no life but when I rotate the encoder knob a blue LED on the motherboard blinks accordingly

Hi Rudi,
Hmmm, this is a very interesting issue!
Have you had to do any firmware updates? There would be a chance that the current firmware on the mainboard isnt able to drive the display (it doesnt look there’s an MCU on the display module).
I dont have any experience with this display from BTT so I’d shoot them a message to see if they have any tips - we’d love to know how you go!
