Hi David,
A controller such as the Pololu Simple Motor Controller 18v7 would be a good choice for a Pi since it can be sent commands via TTL serial.
There are a few different options for controllers with and without feedback, just make sure it can handle the 6.6A stall current of the motors in the Dagu.
