Ender 3 pro stop mid print to update gcode

Hi,

I forgot to select “supports everywhere” in Cura and want to update the gcode file but I am already printing.

can I pause the print, redo the gcode and resume?

regards,

Hi Gareth,

Unfortunately with a printer its a click and commit kind of deal. Unless you have already committed a lot of material into the print it’s usually easier to let it run its course.
There are some fixes if you let it run up to the height where supports will be required. As you mentioned you can stop the print then take it off the bed, clean the plate as usual. From there you will have to see how many layers were printed and modify the STL in the slicer to only print the remaining section of the STL. From memory this is a lot easier in Prusa slicer.
