Hi Craig,

Welcome

Which remote were you refering to? The FLIRC USB allows for a wide range of remotes to be used (just make sure it tranmits IR and if you want to use a remote you already have, the buttons arent used to change channels)

Just want it to control a mac mini ios only small and simple

Hi Craig,

I’m not certain that it will run on your system but FLIRC have the supported operating systems listed on their website

As for a remote, you should be able to use your TV remote or something like this small IR remote.

Sorry anything small black

Hi Craig,

I’d have a look through Core’s range of remotes for something that would suit your vision, anything that sends an IR signal should work with the FLIRC USB. If you have any questions about compatibility feel free to ask! Some of the remotes you already have around might work

PS: your email signature was being sent through with your response so I’ve removed it from the forum

Sorry Liam another question. What does it do with the functions of a mouse on a mac

Hi Craig,

The FLIRC USB doesn’t interface with any mouse commands - the HID controller only allows for ‘commands’ to be assigned, play pause, and some keyboard commands, I’d check out the manual on the product page for an in-depth guide on the functionality:slight_smile:
