I bought this keyboard: * CE05825 to go with the Raspberry Pi. With the dongle in one of the USB ports the mouse is working but not the keyboard. Tried it with my iMac and also wit a Windows 10 machine. Same results: the mouse works OK -albeit it bit “shaky” but the keyboard is absent… In the - very poor English - manual it says to “power on the keyboard, the code indicator light turn on”. But… I cannot discover a power switch on the keyboard and I do not see a code indicator light on or off… Please help!
Fortunately I have an older Logitech keyboard/mouse combo with dongle and that works OK with the Pi. (So it is not the Pi…)
Hey,
Something doesn’t sound quite right! I’m tagging in @Brenton2 who has more touch-time with that product.
Sounds like the keyboard is turned off. Check on the back edge of the keyboard, on the thick edge. On/off slide switch is usually there.
Hi Robin,
Checked for a switch but cannot find it. took photos of the keyboard as attached. may be you can point out where I can find that switch….
Here is your big chance to prove me a moron.
Best regards,

You’re right Hank. I can’t see a switch either. Only place left to look is inside the battery compartment. Do you think the manufacturer would be so stupid?
Oh and from your callsign I was just going to yell out LID.
O.K. Henk.
Here’s a YouTube video on this keyboard. It appears that the mouse switch is the one that turns everything on. So the mouse must be turned on and then the keyboard works.
Thanks Robin.
I actually did look inside the battery compartment. And the manufacturer was not soo stupid as to put a switch there.
Waiting for other comments and suggestions.
BTW licensed ham since 1961 - first as PA0ADC and now VK2GWK. My first computer was an Apple II in 1979 so I have worn out some keyboards….

Thanks Robin. But I got that far… the mouse works but not the keyboard.

Problem Solved… (At least for me). By accident I ordered two keyboards - need only one - and had put the second one away to return to Adamstwon as soon as we had a visit there.
I checked the second keyboard/mouse combination and…. it works as expected. So the first box I opened must have contained a dud keyboard.
Will return that one of these days in person. OK?

Well then Henk I’ve reached the same conclusion as you. It is broken.
Give Core a call, and arrange a replacement/refund.
And I’ll take back the LID comment.
Hey Henk,
Sorry for the late arrival in the thread. The pairing of the keyboard and mouse is automatic but there is the rare occasion when the keyboard or mouse needs to be forced into pairing mode to reset them to the bluetooth dongle.
You’ll find the pairing sequence in the instructions that come with the keyboard and mouse.
Thanks Brenton,
I found that in the “manual” and tried it several times but it did not pair. As you can read in the thread I ordered two keyboard by accident and finally tried the other one. That one worked out of the box so I suspect the first keyboard I tried is a dud.
Cheers

Hmmm, that’s unfortunate the reset hasn’t sorted out the issue for you. I’ll send an email through for getting that return underway and we can check it out for you.
