LED Strip/Buzzer Speaker/OLED Panel

I’m designing an Escape Room that involves a server that a group of students will “hack” into. I want to make the hack as interactive as possible, so I want to do the following:

  • OLED Panel that displays the status of the “Security System”. I’d like to have green/red colours.
  • Some form of in-built speaker, that will make noise when the Security System is being turned off.
  • Programmable LED Strip, that could illuminate a case that looks similar to this during day light. LED Strip will change colour based on the Security Systems status.

Can I do all of the above with just the GPIO board on the Raspberry Pi? New to this kinda thing.

Hey Jo,
Welcome to the forums!

I think the PiicoDev modules we make might be an awesome solution for you with a project like this! You can use the PiicoDev Raspberry Pi adapter to interface our modules.

For the colour scheme of online/offline you could use our PiicoDev RGB LED module, using a difffuser panel of some sort it would be perfect for a simple function like that. The PiicoDev Buzzer Module can be programmed to play sounds that would allow interactive feedback for when things are on or off.

An LED strip can be used with the raspberry pi quite easily, we actually have an awesome guide on it that can be found here.

Sounds like an awesome project and it’d be awesome to see how it turns out!

Cheers,
Blayden
