Little sister nose button contraption

Little sister nose button contraption

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOUCH THE RED AND BLACK WIRES TOGETHER!

The LED or transistor may burn out.

This project was inspired by the book Easy Electronics by Charles Platt in Experiment 5. It does not use any code.

Parts:

1 breadboard

1 3V battery supply

2 M-M Jumper wires

1 LED any colour

1 NPN 8050 transistor

2 people (children work best)

Each person holds 1 loose wire and 1 of the people squeezes or presses the other’s nose. The person is used not only as a button but also as a resistor so if you are going to add a proper button then don’t forget the resistor.

Follow the pictures to build the circuit.

Hi Alexander,

Welcome to the forum and interesting project!!

This is a very interesting take on how a capacitive sensor works, you can find them quite often on lamps and other house-hold items and not even realise what’s gone into designing them.

She liked it a lot and she kept on playing with it until I had to take it apart and build something new.
