LoRa HAT for RPi

We wanted to get a LoRa HAT for a Pi without needing Things Industries so we can just use MQTT.

The only one I could find was the Elecrow HAT but it uses a pigtail antenna which is pretty useless.

I ended up making our own….

It has u.FL and SMA Antenna.

What I’d like to do is hand out 2 of them to 2 people who can use them and report back any bugs, etc.

We are using one quite successfully but I’d like some more testing.

Hi Gerard,

I am currently working on a project which is for a security robot, it uses mqtt to communicate between 2 raspberry PIs and 2 pico,s, I am planning on using Lora to pass commands to the robot and also to send telemetry back to a main control screen and dashboard. I am just working out some of the Lora hardware, and so would love the chance to add one of your Lora boards which I would test and give you feedback on as part of my build process.

If I am not successful and you pick a different two people for your boards let me know if there is any other way I may be able to help in the future.

Many thanks Elliot

No problem.

PM me an address and I’ll send you one. The only proviso is that you report the good, bad and ugly.

It’s yours to keep.

This is pretty cool @Gerard163258

Hi Elliot

If “PM” means “Personal Message” I don’t think anyone has this. It used to work OK but it seems to have gone missing some time ago.

I have not got access anyhow.
Cheers Bob

That LoRa Hat looks pretty rad, Geoff.

Hey there, I can confirm that only Admins have PM permissions at this time.

While you can feel free to share personal information like this, Elliot, just remember that this is a publicly accessible and searchable forum.

Good luck with the testing.

We also made these….

This is a temp/humidity sensor but the pin connections are compatible with the Adafruit I2C soil mosture sensor so you can just make one cable but hook up either sensor.

This is the enclosure we made for the above.
