I thought I would post a cautionary note on the new socket-type headers being used on hats by Adafruit and I assume others.
These are great as they have obvious advantages in compact assemblies and not having to solder connector pins.
However, they will not tolerate separation from their host board using the board to pry the connection apart as the old soldered ones did.
The plastic header block is (in my case) not fastened to the board and the result is that the soldered terminal tabs on the board have to take the force of separation and easily separate from their pads.
So, my advice is to only pry between the plastic blocks with a sharp knife to separate the connection.
I was able to solder the tabs back on but hope this saves others making my mistake.
