This is a placeholder topic for “OBD-II UART” comments.

This board allows you to interface with your car’s OBD-II bus. It provides you a serial interface using the ELM327 command set and supports all major OBD-II standards such as CAN and JBUS. The board also provides a footprint which mates directly to our FTDI Basic or a Bluetooth Mate. The DB9 connector mates with our DB9 to OBD-II cable listed below.

I have bought a cheap android headunit and it has the ability to see vechile info and control hvac through the UART port. The supplier of headunit is no help in locating the can module.
When i set it up it wanted a “Oudi” yes oudi not audi branded module.
But what i was wondering is can i use thing if wired correctly to convert the can signals to uart.
The vechile is a 2011 ford fg falcon.
Hi @Steven294575
Welcome to the forum!
As you mentioned the headunit can accept a UART input, so it should be fine to receive the output of this board. I did have a quick dig around and found this Github repo GitHub - jakka351/FG-Falcon: FoA Orion Repository that might be useful for your purposes.
@Steven294575 You can look for a generic CANBUS box (sometimes called “Teyes CANBUS decoder” or “AC8257 CANBUS decoder”) that uses UART and supports Ford protocols.
