Setting up a raspi yabbie camera

Hello all! I’m very new to rasberry pi hardware and it’s applications. Have had some fun with rasberry picos previously.

I am a NSW high school teacher. I’m hoping to set up a live camera feed for a yabbie aquaponics tank. What is the best way to go about this?

I am hoping that anyone within and outside the school network with a link to the live feed can access the live feed.

How do I go about this? Please explain this explicitly, as I am fairly new to raspi.

I have a rasberry pi 4 and 5 as well as the cameras.

Cheers!

Hi Isaac,

What a fun project. I’m operating on a few assumptions so please correct me if I’m wrong. The tank is in range of an internet connection (you may run into network issues), the Pi will be close to a power source.

If these are correct, this should be just a software problem and there are a few possible solutions. Motioneye is an operating system that is primarily for security cameras but can be used here. There are some tutorials about for setting up live streams.

Let me know what you think!
