SMA female end thread length

G’day

I have a question regarding

CAB-22034

I am mounting an external antennae on the outside of a Pelican case which has a 5mm thick walling. Will there be enough thread length to tightly secure an antenna on the outside of the box?

Thread depth of the antenna is 5mm also.

Welcome
If the thread depth and wall thickness are the same you won’t be able to get the nut on. Won’t even be able to start the thread.

There are ways around this.
Drill a hole in the box large enough for the panel mount connector to pass through.
Obtain a piece of thin sheet material (1.6m aluminium or similar) large enough to cover this hole and allow the fitting of mounting screws.
Droll a hole in this sheet to accommodate the panel mount connector
Mount the connector into this hole and mount the sheet complete with connector on the box with about M3 screws and nuts.
Job done

I am savvy with mounting options, I just need the measurements as the spec sheet is wrong. I am time poor and this needs to be built quickly

Can anyone get their hands on the cable with a measuring device?

That is not what you asked.
If you had been accurate in the first place I would not have bothered replying as I do not have a cable to measure.
You might have to wait for Core to get one from stock and measure.

I know we spoke on the phone earlier but just for anyone else who is curious, minus the head, the length of the thread of the female header is 10mm.

That is a pretty short cable.
I think what Luke wants to know is the length of the thread on the panel mount connector and can he use it on a 5mm thick panel.
