This Solar lipo charger is designed for single Lithium battery (3.7V) for intelligent charging, with input reverse polarity protection. The maximum charging current is 500 milliamperes and the connection is simple and convenient. Used with the solar battery and lithium battery, you can quickly build a solar power system. Nowadays green power, for stationary or mobile projects is becoming highly requested.
I note in two places the product description refers to “solar battery”. I assume these should read “solar panel” ?
I am looking to charge a 3.6V NiMH battery pack from solar, but a search on core’s shop didn’t return anything … so wondering if this could be used instead ?
Well spotted, I’ll have that queued to be updated.
As for charging your NiMH battery I have seen a range of answers about but to my understanding you shouldn’t. These batteries charge differently and this solar charger is designed. This charger provides a constant current and voltage to the battery until it reaches its max voltage, it then trickles its current until the battery is fully charged. Lithium batteries like this type of charging.
NiMH batteries are slightly different. They use a constant current to charge but vary the voltage. This is why you shouldn’t use a Lithium charger here. I can’t see a solar charger that we stock that will work for your batteries unfortunately
