Unable to receive data/configure SX1262 DTU

Jeff. i forgot to let you know. The actual SPI bus speed was about 34Msps, so at the recommended oversample rates (6x), you would be looking more at a 200 Msps logic analyzer for best results or min 4x for 136 Msps ; either way 24Msps would not be enough. If looking at spi I think the current max speed is 60 Mbps, so a min 240 Msps logic analyzer would be needed if you want to cover everything.

Hi Michael, Jeff
At $38. Not bad for a logic analyser. Although a relatively slow device it would be an attractive and economical introduction into the world of Logic Analysers.
As with all test instruments. as long as you know the limitations the instrument is still useful.

To all,

This is now resolved. I just updated to v1.3 firmware and can now communicate via RS232. I found previously that the mode was not being switched when pressing the KEY button on fw v1.2, and data received OTA was only ever coming out the 485/422 port. Since updating the firmware I can now send raw data into one device (in my current case, via 485) and have it come out the 232 port just as I required!.

Cheers all for the support.

Glad to hear its working as it should now.

Hello Everyone,

I just stumbled upon this forum, I also using same DTUs, some how I’m into a state where, when one DTU is turned on, the ready Lights (Tx and RX flashing once after three seconds of boot) are not working and even I’m not able to burn the firmware again. device is not connecting to sscom software either. any help will be helpful.
Thank You.

Hey @SaurabhP289893,

To confirm, the device shows no activity on the Tx and Rx LEDs, and is unresponsive to the SSCOM software? Is the power indicator on?

If the power indicator is off, I would check that your plugpack is feeding 12V to the input jack. If the power indicator is on, it could be an issue with the regulator on the device.

Some images of your device and setup would additionally be useful.

Hi @Zach, Input supply is ok. Power Indicator is also on. Im using RS485 to USB Interface to connect it to pc. The DTU gets into firmware update mode by pressing the key before 3 seconds of boot. but the progress bar in application is stuck at 0%.

Have you tried a factory reset first ?

I may have see it stop working and not allow a firmware update due to some bad option I set.

@Michael99645 Yes, I tries holding the key after 3 seconds but RxD Light does not turn on or off

just for a full check. Once you think you should be in firmware loading mode, can you try RS232 port as well as the RS422 and RS485 ports (just in case its decided to use a different port).

Also on power up, ensure there is nothing connecting to the unit; and connect the serial adaptor AFTER its booted into flash mode.
the half duplex RS485 and cause problems in these units.

Tried using RS232 it give an error

Did you click on “open file” once you opened the comm port?
i.e.
Run download
Click “Open COM”
Click “Open File” → Then select your firmware file
at this point the Update button should be enabled, so if you device is connected, then click update.

Yes, I did the exact same. Usually in normal firmware loading process both Tx and Rx light blinks and process bar gradually fills. This is not happening, I tried factory resetting as well.
