What's the difference between LM555 and NE555?

What’s the difference between LM555 and NE555? Or r they totally the same?

Not a huge amount, but a bit. Or a huge amount - depends on your application :wink:

I think only the manufacturer.
There have been volumes written about this little chip. Very versatile.

They’re exceptionally similar, the only notable major difference is the manufacturer.
