First and most immediate thought is that SMS services are not possible on all IoT modules, so do be careful when you’re looking for parts. Fortunately, both of the below will work:
I would recommend the second above the first as it will be a little easier to integrate into most designs.
Secondly, when you’re saying “6-8” inputs, what exactly did you have in mind? Are you thinking low voltage inputs that could be integrated with microcontroller 3.3V logic and GPIO pins? Or will these be much higher voltage and require a dedicated relay system?
