Data Logger for Bottle Rocket

Hi guys, I am wanting to build a datalogger that logs velocity, altitude, acceleration and time that can be used in a bottle rocket project for my year 10 Engineering class. I have a website that has some information but would like to know if there is a better/more current way of achieving this.

The guide you’ve linked looks pretty good - it would only get better by using faster/more accurate hardware though the price hike might diminish the return of value.
