Looking to buy a low lighting camera for raspberry pi

I am looking for a good quality camera that is good with low light vision, particularly at night times with street lights.

I heard that Arducam can be good at this. Can anyone suggest a particular model along with peripherals that can be connected to the raspberry pi such as csi connector, and adapter etc?

I think this one will go well. Raspberry Pi Camera Board - Night Vision & Adjustable-Focus Lens (5MP) | Buy in Australia | WS-10299 | Waveshare | Core Electronics

Hey there, @Joe312384, and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here.

@love312190 has made a very good suggestion for Night Vision, but this is because it also records Infrared Light.

The Arducam 2MP Ultra Low Light Camera only records Visible Light, but can handle very low light conditions near the Infared Spectrum.

Hi thanks for your message.

This seems interesting but quite pricey (though willing to spend if needed)

I can see another one:

which advertises as low light. However how does it compare to the one you have suggested?

So the one I linked to in my previous post was the IMX462 whereas that one is the IMX290. If we look at the specs for both models.

We will see that the main distinction between them is that the 462’s G Sensitivity (ability to see in low light conditions) is double the 290.

However, there is a middle ground in the IMX327. It has the greater light sensisty of the 462 at a lower cost. The downside being that it lacks the lenses of the other two varieties, meaning the image capture won’t be as high quality, and it has a max frame rate of 90fps.

I might go with your last suggestion then, thanks for your assistance
