Multiple active electret microphones

Hey all

I was wondering if it’s possible to have 3-5 separate audio (mono) channels active simultaneously for recording on a electret microphones as multiple separate file onto a sd card?

I have both the ardunio uno / teensy 3.6 + audio shield and have used the teensy for mems (digital I2S) recording prior but havnt done much on the analog end .

Hi Andreas,

I think this might be possible. I’m not sure if you can do it with analog microphones though. I found a write-up for a slightly similar project using the Teensy audio board that might get you started in the right direction:

This uses I2S microphones though, but that might be nessesary.

Thanks for the reply, and yeah iv played around with I2S and it does indeed work (using two audio boards)
just unfortunately i need a cardioid mic pattern which mems dont really have
