is the NFC HAT for Raspberry Pi (PN532) compatible with the pi 5 and if so, I have a fan on my pi 5 is there such a thing as a hat extender so they connect properly?

Hi @Zac244950,

Welcome to the Forums! This HAT should be compatible with the Pi 5.

There are a few different options for stackable headers about that may work here. There is this one with 3mm tall pins, I’m not sure if these will be enough to interface with the NFC HAT however. We also have this one with 10mm long pins, if these are too long you can cut them down to size.

The Raspberry Pi 5 maintains the same 40-pin GPIO header as its predecessors, ensuring compatibility with existing HATs that utilize this interface. Therefore, your PN532 NFC HAT should be compatible with the Raspberry Pi 5. You can use GPIO Ribbon Extension Cable to provide additional clearance or reposition HATs to accommodate such configurations.
