Looking for these two specific parts in Australia to suite
âºNema 17 Stepper Motor 4-Wire 0.71Nm 1.8Deg 1.8A
âº24V 15A Dc Universal Regulated Switching Power Supply 360W
Have these covered
âºTB6600 4A 9-42V Stepper Motor Driver Controller
âºArduino UNO
âºBread board
âºDu-Pont wires
âºBraided sleeves
âºHeat shrinks
We should be able to help out there!
This is the closest I could find to that stepper motor:
The current limit is a little lower, but if youâre worried about torque we have a slightly larger NEMA 23 motor you could substitute that would be OK for your driver (4A is huge)
24V 15A is enourmous. I suspect the guide author just had one of these huge power supplies lying around and used it, then recommended it to everyone else for some reason. Keep in mind that âchopperâ stepper drivers like the one youâve got will only draw a fraction of the steppers rated current at the supply (24V 0.3A vs 4V 2A, say).
Perhaps something like this would be more appropriate:
Avoid working with 240V as this guide suggests for some reason. You need to be a licensed electricial (or employ one) to do work like that. So going for a plug pack instead is a smart move IMO.
Lemme know if you have any questions, and good luck with your project!
