Project Screen Preference

Hi all, while this is an open-ended question and I am fully aware that it can depend, I was interested in peoples thoughts from their own projects as to what they prefer to use for a display and why.

In the old days, nearly everything was 2 or 4 line character based LCD. Pro easy to read (most of the time) Con limited space for information and/or icons/graphics.

then I played with some cheap small OLED, but these tend to be too small and limited colors (at the cheaper end).

I have been playing with some 320x240 LCD with resistive touch. The screen is mostly ok, but you need to make sure you get the viewing angle you want, the cheaper ones tend to have narrow view before colors can fade off. Also I think capacitive touch would be a much better option.

I really like the clean, easy to view, low power of the eink/epaper screens, but the downside can be the refresh/redraw speed can be distracting and slow.

Given that there are so many types and versions/quality of build options here, I thought it would be good to others to chime in and give some feedback on what they liked or did not like.

Thanks

Hey @Michael99645

My preference if I need a visual output for a project would be a larger OLED similar to our Large OLED I2C Display (SSD1309) | Buy in Australia | CE09964 | Core Electronics

I agree with you on the limited colours, I have a green one that lives on my desk.
