Hi @Geoff69810,
Honestly, it seems kind of flexible with how you can attach.
Someone in this thread placed it over the camera with sticky tape.
Whereas some scientists using it for plant research that is a little over my head mentioned that they just glued the filter to the camera.
From PYM: a new, affordable, image-based method using a Raspberry Pi to phenotype plant leaf area in a wide diversity of environments
Hope that helps ![]()
Jane,
Thanks for the suggestion.
I thought of doing something like this but wasn’t sure if the filter goes over the lens, as pictured, or if it was to be placed on the actual sensor.
The High Def camera
has the filter on top of the actual sensor.
As you have suggested, placing the filter like this seems a bit flimsy, but if that is all that is required, and it works, then so be it!
Geoff.
You can Cut the filter down to the size of the lens opening. Place it directly in front of the lens. Secure it lightly with tape, a thin ring of blu-tack, or a small 3D-printed clip. This is the most common method, since the NoIR lens module is sealed and not designed to be opened.
Thanks for the suggestion.
This method has been mentioned elsewhere and has now worked for me.
