Ummm, just got a Pi 4, have a Waveshare 7" Touch Screen on Main HDMI, and a Samsung TV on HDMI 2, running 1280x1024 …
I plugged in a 10 TB USB3 External Hard Drive, The RPi4 see’s it faster than a 8 core AMD Box I have here !!!, but, when I managed to get video on Samsung 2nd screen, if I double click on VLC Screen to go Full Screen PI crashes to OFF, it seems, but if I just maximize the Window it’s all O.K, Video Plays Normally on 2nd Screen … Any body else got this issue ?
what opp sys are you using…rasbian is not my forte…can you run xrandr to see the output of this …if you have it matching the t.v set to it`s native resolution…
same with the wave share it may be causing issues
also check the configuration in the op sys settings…video default`s etc…
it is most likely a native resolution problem i would seem to think…or even the horiz sync may be needed to be set different…
you may need to set parameters in the usercfg.txt file
