Setup Basic Web Sever

Hi.
I’m looking for some hardware to run a mini web server, serving audio.
I’m thinking a Raspberry and LattePanda
max concurrent users 100. Probably to many?
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Johannes

Hi Johannes, welcome to the forum!

Since web servers and the like are fairly portable, I’d write and test your code on a full size PC first, then move it over to a Pi once you’ve determined the storage, RAM, and CPU needs are not too high for one. The LattePandas are several times the price, but can offer better performance, something like a low-end laptop.

Another consideration is internet bandwidth. Australian internet generally sucks at upload speed, and depending on the bitrate of the audio, 100 users may saturate your connection. Also worth considering is do you have a static IP from your ISP, and are they OK with you doing something commercial.

Are you implementing some else’s software project or writing your own? Can you share more details about what this is for?

Hi James
Thanks for your comments.
The server will be hosting a product written inhouse.
We’ve ordered a couple of devices and I’m looking forward to testing them out.
I’m also leaning towards using a LattePanda, which I’m also looking forward to testing out.
I’ll let your you know the results once tested.
Thanks heaps
