Arducam Mega 3/5MP IR filter

Hi,

Could you please let me know if Arducam Mega ( ArduCam Mega 5MP Camera | Buy in Australia | AC-B0401 | Core Electronics) cameras have IR filters or not.

Hey @Prithul271176,

I can confirm that this camera has a filter to cut out IR light.

You can find the documentation for it at the below link, this specific camera will be referred to as the’ Arducam Mega 5MP-M12’ in this documentation.

https://docs.arducam.com/Arduino-SPI-camera/MEGA-SPI/MEGA-SPI-Camera/

The versions without the IR cutout filter will be referred to as the ‘Arducam Mega 5MP-NoIR’ in this documentation.

Hope this helps!

Hi Samuel,

Thanks for that! Bad on me for stupidly missing that on the documentation.

I see that Core don’t sell those NoIR modules. Is there a way we can ask you kind folks to get it for us?

Hi Prithul,

Its an easy thing to miss.

There certainly is!

I’ll have a look at getting it added to our range

Hi Liam,

Don’t mean to rush you but just wanted to know if this is in the horizon.

I am considering directly purchasing the camera from Arducam (since I’d like to get to testing it; for my research work) but buying from you can save us import tax.

Hi Prithul,

It can take some time for suppliers to get back to us with confirmations of stock, we haven’t heard back from Arducam regarding this one since the inquiry was logged with them yesterday. Once we have confirmation that they are able to provide stock of the item it will be added to our store.
