Raspberry pi 4b PoE hat compatible with fan add on?

Hey guys
Do you know if there is enough room for this fan to sit on top of this Poe hat?

Smart Cooling Hat For Raspberry Pi 4

SKU: DFR0672 Brand: [DFRobot]

With this

Power over Ethernet HAT (E) for Raspberry Pi 3B+/4B, 802.3af-compliant

SKU: WS-23285 Brand: [Waveshare]

Thx!

Hi @Robert164578

Looking at both of those hats from your post I would say there is better options for having PoE and also active cooling, being either the Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT or Waveshare Power over Ethernet HAT (D) (Pi 3B+/4B).

Thx Dan…
I forgot to mention…the only reason I chose that hat,is RGB

Otherwise I do have other cooling options, but extra rgb is always nice :slightly_smiling_face:

Let me know when you can if it’ll work

I have a few old those PoE hats, and the gpio pins from the pi do not protrude out from the PoE area which covers the first top 6 pins, (1-6 5v, 3v gnd etc), so how would this hat receive power? Is a crazy work around even possible?
Rob

Hi Robert,

Being that the headers don’t protrude from the PoE hat you would need to look at using something like PoE+ HAT Push-Fit Extra Tall Header Kit give you some extra pin length through the PoE hat.

That’s some big pins.
I think that’ll do the trick!

Thx!
