What is the best stepper driver board for the following?
Application:
Actuonix P8-50-49-3-ST driven via Arduino UNO
Board requirements:
5V logic from Arduino
Motor voltage 0-4.2VDC @ 356mA per phase (bipolar stepper) so ideally 3.3V
Actuonix recommends an TIC T825 but surely this is over kill plus the min operating voltage is too high at 8.5V, I was looking at the T834 but again is this overkill?
Hi James,
Our Makerverse motor driver should be able to drive your steppers with 3.3V @356mA and is quite a lot cheaper than the TIC T825.

Would the Pololu 3.3V Step-Up/Step-Down Voltage Regulator S7V8F3 (500mA - 1A) be suitable for Actuonix P8-50-49-3-ST which is rated at 356mA per phase?
If not is there a more suitable regulator?

Hi James,
For motors you can run them at a higher voltage but make sure you get a driver that has current limiting set like the Makerverse Driver Trent linked above in this thread
